Be a Student of Life

Updated: Sep 30, 2022

September is a great month for moms. It's back-to-school time, National Yoga Month, National Self-Care Awareness Month and Self-Improvement Month.

September is a wonderful month for busy moms and for personal growth and development! It’s National Yoga Month, National Self-Care Awareness Month and Self-Improvement Month.

It's also the best time of year to launch something new—something you’ve been working on throughout the seasons. Around this time of year, I have observed that I get so excited for the possibilities of starting something new.

In Sanskrit, the language of yoga, self-study is called svadhyaya. When we observe ourselves, we develop greater self-awareness. When we take time to reflect on this awareness, we get to know ourselves better. When we know ourselves better, everything makes more sense.

Be a lifelong learner of yourself and observe instead of judge what you see.

This video is part of A Second for Yourself—a 52-week mantra video series that encourages moms to take a second for themselves. For more mantras, subscribe to my Stand Up for Your Self-Care YouTube Channel.

This week's mantra: I am a student of life.

Practice It: Observe Yourself
