Morning Mantra: I Am Not My Thoughts

Updated: 5 days ago

World Mental Health Day is October 10. Your mental health deserves the same level of attention as your physical health. Start with the mantra: "I am not my thoughts."

I Am Not My Thoughts
"I am not my thoughts." Support your mental health and well-being throughout your life with self-care.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day—a reminder of the importance of mental health and well-being and that you are more than your physical self. There are so many layers to you—emotional, mental, spiritual and beyond. You can’t take care of only one part and expect the rest to follow without giving those other parts of time and attention, too.

It’s easy to attach to labels. A mom. A business owner, a writer, a teacher. Whatever it is, these are part of who you may be but you are not defined by them. You are so much more than your body, mind and thoughts.

This video is part of A Second for Yourself—a video series on my Stand Up for Your Self-Care YouTube Channel that encourages you to create mindfulness in your busy day.

Mantra for moms: I am not this body. I am not this mind. I am not these thoughts.

Journal About It: I Am Not My Thoughts

Get your journal and a pen and find a quiet spot. What thought keeps coming up for you right now? Is this a new thought or one that you have had for years? How can you loosen the grip on this thought?
