Word of the Week: Lead
Take the lead and be in charge. Be the guide who takes us far.
Whether you're a parent, a manager, a mentor, a partner, a coach or all of the above, you likely have plenty of opportunities to lead.
How do you become a great leader? For some people, it’s listening to inspirational podcasts about leadership or reading books about how to become the leader they’re meant to be. For others, being a better leader is about developing greater self-awareness—one of the most important qualities of leadership.
I became more self-aware when I began practicing yoga in 2008. Two years later, I taught my first yoga class after completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Teaching yoga opened opportunities for me to guide other people to discover their own self-awareness by helping them stay connected to the present moment and discern how to be their own best advocates on the yoga mat. In turn, their practice on the mat helped them off the mat and in their own lives.
However you lead, do it with the intention to help others realize their greatest potential.
