A decade makes a difference. What did your life look like a decade ago and what will your life look like 10 years from now?
Think back to 10 years ago. What were you doing? How were you feeling? Who did you want to be? Are you that person now or making progress toward becoming the person you want to be?
Fast forward to present-day you. Hello, current self.
A decade really does makes a difference. You have more life experience. You’ve come face-to-face with change. You’ve made choices—some that nurture and nourish growth and some that don’t.
In the last decade, I got married, became a yoga teacher, moved, changed jobs (those actually all occurred in one year); became a mom, became an award-winning author of 108 Yoga and Self-Care Practices for Busy Mamas; launched my blog Stand Up for Your Self-Care, and expanded my meditation practice.

Here’s what I'm looking forward to in the next 10 years:
Growth on my yoga path and deepening my knowledge of Ayurveda
Connecting with those who read this content and advocating for you to stand up for your self-care
Expanding worldwide awareness of the importance of self-care, especially for working moms—why and how to practice it, incorporating it in the rhythm of daily life instead of thinking about it as a reward or treat
Practice It: Reflect on What Your Life Will Look Like in 10 Years
Get a notebook and pen, find a quiet spot and close your eyes. Observe your breath. Notice the cycles of breath going in and out. Take a moment to honor the last 10 years. What did you love about them? What didn't you like? What did you learn? Think about what you want to do in these next 10 years. How will you spend your time, money and energy? Who are you growing into becoming? After a few moments, flutter your eyes open and begin to write.
Journal about what you want from the next 10 years of your life. What are you most excited about? What are you working toward? Write until you feel your spirit has spoken.
May you be open to the possibilities the next 10 years will bring, my friend.
